As first responders to fires, public safety, medical emergencies, and disasters, Clallam County Fire Protection District No. 4 protects the lives and property of Joyce residents and visitors. The district advances public safety through its fire prevention, and education programs. The timely delivery of these services enables Clallam County Fire Protection District No. 4 make significant contributions to the safety of Joyce and the surrounding district. The members of the fire district continually strive to stay current with evolving fire and pre-hospital medical best practices to keep the residents and visitors in our community and our volunteers as safe as possible.

Clallam County Fire Protection District No. 4 (CCFPD4) is headquartered in Joyce, Washington, in Clallam County. The town of Joyce is situated just west of the city of Port Angeles. CCFPD4 is considered a fire protection district as it’s guided by an elected Board of Commissioners and funded by local taxes.
CCFPD4’s service area stretches roughly 4 miles north-to-south and 23 miles east-to-west along Highway 112, covering an area of approximately 87 square miles. The eastern boundary of the district on Highway 112 is Ram Hill Road, about 4 miles west of the Elwha River. The western boundary is Milepost 33 on Highway 112 near Deep Creek. CCFPD4 serves approximately 3,500 residents, this figure almost doubling during the fair-weather months of the year. Olympic National Park, state parks, and Highway 112 carrying traffic to Neah Bay and the Pacific Coast attract many tourists to destinations with the service area in warmer weather.
