Proudly Serving the Joyce Community Since 1955

Recognition and Awards
The District recognizes our own and we are recognized by others. Adorning the walls of the CCFPD No. 4 admin building are a number of plaques recognizing volunteer service. The collection includes: a volunteer of the year plaque; a 100+ plus calls per year plaque; the Lee Poats attendance award given to the volunteer with the highest drill attendance each year; the Donna Kay Buck outstanding non-combat volunteer of the year award given each year to an individual who did not respond on calls but provided other helpful service; and memorial plaques recognizing those who served over the years as volunteers and commissioners.

District Awards

Appreciation and Awards Night

Every year, the District holds an Appreciation and Awards night. At this event we take time to recognize the achievements of responders and other volunteers.

Recognition Beyond the District

CCFPD4 has been the recipient of Washington Fire Commissioners Association Management Excellence Awards (MEA); 1st place in 2014, 2nd in 2015, and 1st in 2016, 2017, and 2018 in division “D”, those with operating budgets under $500,000. In 2021, the District moved up to division “C”, those with larger operating budgets. Yet in 2022, despite competing against much larger districts, CCFPD4 was awarded 3rd place in Management Excellence. The awards are judged on innovative programs, management, wise use of financial assets, and accomplishments over the past year.

In March 2023, the Washington Fire Commissioners Association announced, “We’ve decided to discontinue our MEA awards. We thank all who have participated in this long-time award program. Your agencies have been inspiring!”
